Desert animals are mostly nocturnal, active at night to avoid the heat of the hot sand. Scorpions hide under stones during the day. Lizards and desert foxes wait for the night in holes in the sand. In particular, desert foxes have greatly developed ears due to the influence of climate. When the body temperature rises in heat exceeding 40 degrees, it sends heat through its large ears to lower the body temperature.
