publisher book review

The energy provided by mothers through play lasts a lifetime.
‘Happy study habits and attitude’ are more important than prior learning.
For your child’s confident school life
Just invest 30 minutes a day, a couple of times a week!

Every time I looked at their blog, I thought that they were the most envious mother and daughter in the world.
Is it possible to maintain a good relationship with your child and achieve learning benefits through such simple and easy play?
It's natural to want to follow along.
– Seungseop, Hyeonseop’s mom (Hupyeong Elementary School teacher)

A child who gave me positive and fresh energy in everything I did.
Chaeyoung's secret to always smiling brightly is just 'playing games with her mom at home.'
– Suhyun Mom (Director of Open Kindergarten)

“Mom, you know. “Can you play with me for a moment?”
Hongmi Shin, a typical working mother who is always busy, is an art teacher. She even did magic with colored paper in front of the other children, but she didn't seem to spend much time with her daughter. She just lived like that, even though she thought everyone else was like that and felt vague anxiety. Then one day she heard these words from her daughter.
It was only when I saw my daughter's pitiful eyes that I realized. She knows that the most important person to a child is her mother, herself. And she knows that the time she spent using the excuse of being busy will never come back.
'okay! Let's play. Chaeyoung, let's have fun with mom.'
From then on, I made up my mind and started playing with the child. This book is a record of the past three years in which the author has enjoyed playing with her daughter Chaeyoung through art.

● True ‘play’ must be enjoyable for both mother and child.

As an art teacher, I had endless content when it came to art activities, but playing with my own child at home was different. Depending on her child's responses, she continued to modify the content of the play.

The absolute amount of time and the effect of play are not proportional.

As I gained more know-how, it took just 30 minutes from preparing the ingredients to finishing. If it lasts longer than that, her mother will get tired first, not to mention the child. Play is literally play. It is a time when you should do your best to have fun. I thought that as long as you don't force children to play difficult games that aren't appropriate for their age, you just need to 'reference' the appropriate age for playing. Instead, I did it consistently. I tried to do it at least once a week without missing a beat.

The better results you get when you are not limited by location or materials.

There was no need to prepare a special place. We used every corner of the house, including the living room, children's room, kitchen, and bathroom, and the neighborhood streets where we went for a short walk and the amusement park where we went on an outing were also great places for play. The same goes for materials. Mom gets tired from having to prepare all these complicated things. We stocked up on the essential materials and actively used things that were easily available at home, such as recycled products, when needed. As time passed, the child showed interest in all objects in daily life, and began to come up with ideas for using those objects in play. They were enjoying the game, thinking creatively on their own, not because someone told them to.

● Art play is an opportunity to ‘discover’ your child.

If you set aside time and play with your child using various materials, you will discover hidden talents and tastes in your child that you did not know before. Wouldn't it be best to know what your child likes and what he or she is curious about so that you can provide an appropriate education? Therefore, it is not particularly important whether the child can digest the play or not. It should be used as a time to observe from the mother's perspective how the child treats and enjoys play.

The way a child looks at his mother is different.

Art play is also an opportunity for a child to discover his or her mother. At first, it was an investment for the child, but at some point, her mother became happy first. More than anything, the child's eyes when looking at her mother changed. Relationships have changed. The more time they spent together, the stronger the affection between them. Her mother's small sincerity piled up and moved her child. The husband, who was jealous of the close relationship between mother and daughter, joined in the game, and the sweet, harmonious family that only others had heard of became a reality. Let's use art play as an opportunity to show off our affection for our children. It's so much fun getting closer to your child.

● The biggest benefit is that the child’s learning attitude has changed!

Children who discovered the joy of learning through play became more curious and tried to solve problems creatively. Although he didn't get an all-white score on every test, he hugged his test paper and was proud, saying, 'Mom, I can do better next time!' How pretty it is to say that. Studying was no longer boring and scary for the child. He enjoys everything, accepts the results of his efforts, and is not afraid of being wrong. Seeing her child like this makes the mother believe in her child and her child's future. She no longer cares for the child who is tired of private education.

This is why I can't help but recommend it to people around me. Having experienced it myself, I can confidently recommend that adding the seasoning of ‘art’ to a mother’s sensibility can lead to a more enjoyable and enriching education. All the know-how accumulated so far has been revealed in this book. As you read, you will learn what kind of play is best to play in what situations and what art play is perfect for your child. We have found and explained the most optimal materials and methods to make it comfortable for the mother and enjoyable for the child, so all she has to do is enjoy watching, reading, and following along.
The photo showing the play process shows daughter Chaeyoung smiling brightly. It's an expression that would never come out if you forced it. She looks like she's having a lot of fun spending time with her mom.
Don’t you want to give this kind of expression to your child too? Let’s play art smartly! The child changes.
