A warm and friendly glimpse into daily life
Yunseo is always cheerful when she wakes up in the morning, says goodbye to her mother, and arrives at kindergarten with her father. He is a little boy who knows how to greet people and friends he meets on his way to and from kindergarten by saying “I’ll have a nice trip” or “Hello!” Nowadays, as the number of dual-income families increases and people spend more time with their friends at kindergarten rather than with mom and dad, Yunseo's friendly daily life, brightening her day in a positive way, is portrayed with comfort and warmth. Parents can enjoy a precious opportunity to understand their children's minds by calmly capturing the lives that our children experience around us through the living, breathing story of Yoon-seo.
A pleasant day seen from a child's perspective
Children who are shorter than adults are viewed differently from adults. In 『A Good Day Today』, you can see the world of Akiko Hayashi's paintings, which is created through the eyes of our children. Although it is Akiko Hayashi's early painting from over 20 years ago, it still touches our hearts and makes us feel nostalgic. Yun-seo's appearance, which accurately expresses every aspect of what a child can think and see, without missing a single detail, really looks like the child next to us in the neighborhood.
Author's Story (Toshiko Kanzawa)
A day seen through the eyes of a child
It's been a long time since I raised a child, so my memories are vague. Now, I am a grandmother with 6 grandchildren, and each age range is from 3 to 10 years old. Since my daughters go to work, I sometimes have to take my grandchildren to kindergarten and come home with them. Some days I ride my bike, and some days I return home on foot. Walking is especially enjoyable in spring. My young grandson loves to see flowers coming out of cracks in the bricks and shouts with joy, so there are days when he deliberately turns around a long way to show me other flowers.
Children also find tangerines that have fallen down the shelf at the vegetable store. Also, it is a child to see a cat hiding under a shelf, and a child is also a child to look at the entrance where the products come out when passing by a vending machine. You will think that the entrance where the money comes out is a fun hole because it is just right for your child's eye level. When you walk with your child like this, you can see new things that were previously invisible. Things like glass bead necklaces in the cracks of broken bricks and flower petals and grass blades on top are all done by children and make you smile.
