Description

I’ve seen it all, Korean history! Next is world history!
A stepping stone from Korean history to world history, 〈World History in Pictures〉 is completed.
We need an easy and fun history book. The “Korean History in Pictures” series, created with the wishes of children, parents, and teachers, has been consistently loved by readers since its publication. So far, about 970 readers have participated in the ‘Korean History Diary 5-Week Completion Project through Pictures’ both online and offline. This is not an easy project for elementary school students as they have to write a Korean history diary every day for five weeks. Nevertheless, the number of child readers who have consistently written Korean history diaries and won the ‘Doctoral Award in Korean History’ amounts to about 5. Reading beautiful books that allow us to read, feel, and express our history continues to this day. Children and parent readers who were exposed to Korean history for the first time wanted world history as easy as “Korean History in Pictures.”
This was something the authors, who are also history teachers at school, sympathized with. Empathy and need led to planning. In order to overcome the barrier of world history beyond Korean history, a world history book suitable for children's level, 〈World History in Pictures〉, was born.★ Easy, easy, the first step in world history 〈World History in Pictures〉1. A history book written at the eye level of children by elementary, middle, and high school teachers!
The ‘World History in Pictures’ series depicts major trends in world history through short text and interesting pictures.
Based on the 7th revised middle school history textbook, difficult and rigid Chinese characters and concepts were written in a soft and clear manner, and the pictures were written in a fun and vivid way. However, the point of this book is that it faithfully captures the relics, relics, and thematic maps included in the textbook. The 〈World History in Pictures〉 series will be a reliable friend for children moving from Korean history to world history.

2. Regulating the flow of world history through ‘painting’
What would be the length of time between the birth of the Earth, the emergence of humans, and the birth of civilization 46 billion years ago? Or, if it were to be put into a book, how long would it be? Traveling through the vast history of time and space, which is difficult to fathom, requires selection and concentration. So, we structured it so that you can catch the overall flow just by reading the title and pictures. Even if you read it repeatedly several times with a light heart, you will be able to study without memorizing it. A 1:1 ratio of text and pictures is a major feature of the ‘Series Viewed through Pictures.’ At the end of the text, a world history chronology is provided so that the flow of world history and Korean history from ancient times to modern times can be viewed at a glance.

3. Written by a passionate history teacher and supervised by a history lover
The authors of this book are teachers who always struggle to create easy and fun classes from the students' perspective. ‘History Love’, which was in charge of supervision, is a research group made up of like-minded teachers. Even today, they are researching so that children can feel that history is not a hard fossil, but a living story containing the wisdom of humanity. The long research and writing period of the writing and reviewing staff will be verified through short but deep content.

4. Read, write, and study together
With the humanities craze, the number of people reading, writing, discussing, and studying together is increasing. It is good to see that the real joy of studying for a happy life, rather than competition to build qualifications, is contagious. Gyerim Books has also been carrying out the ‘Korean History Diary 2014-Week Completion Project’ with child readers since 5. Diary classes written with professional Korean history teachers in online cafes, blogs, as well as libraries, education centers, and elementary school care classes are already spreading through word of mouth through parents and teachers. Rumor has it that the number of readers who share fun ways to study and read books through writing Korean history diaries and feel a sense of accomplishment through the ‘Korean History Doctoral Award’ is increasing. Following Korean history, the ‘World History in Pictures’ series is also scheduled to be carried out with readers in the ‘World History Diary 5-Week Completion Project’.

5. Study? If you have to do it, have fun with it.
When looking at world history across time and space, a comma is necessary. So, I decided to take a break for a while. In ‘Korean History in World History,’ a comprehensive tour of world history, we look back on our history, which seems similar yet different, and yet similar yet different, at the same time. And at the end of each unit, there is a 'World History Playground' where you can check what you have read and take a breather by solving fun problems related to history, such as finding hidden pictures and filling in the blanks. The last chapter of the text summarizes the chronology of world history. You can look at the flow of world history from ancient times to modern times at a glance.

6. Korean history and world history must be read together for it to be real.
Korean history is difficult, so should world history be taught in elementary school? Even if you have already been exposed to Korean history or are interested in history, world history can be a little overwhelming. It is also true that there are many students who find world history particularly difficult. However, beads must be threaded to be a treasure. Just as there are borders but there are no boundaries between clouds, Korean history and world history are not separate. To truly study history, we must have our history within world history and be able to look at world history from our own perspective. There is no need to memorize years, events, or people. If you have had a taste of Korean history through any book, it is time to look around world history.

The modern story is the history of war that began with World War I.
