Graduated from the Department of Marine Engineering at Korea Maritime and Ocean University and completed an underwater diving science and technology course at the same graduate school. He began his journey to the sea by founding the skin scuba team 'Aqua-man' in 1988 while still in college, and has recorded over 1,500 dives to date. The author, who is also a scuba diving instructor, not only contributed to the popularization of underwater photography by forming the 'Salbit Underwater Photography Club' in 2001, but also served as a member of the Busan City Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years, providing social service such as being in charge of scuba training for volunteer firefighters. They are also enthusiastic about their activities.
After joining the International Newspaper in 1994, he launched the first underwater reporting team for a domestic daily newspaper in September 1996, establishing a new field called 'underwater photojournalism' in the domestic media world. And as a result of this underwater reporting, he received the Journalists Association of Korea's 'Reporter of the Month Award' in 9, 1999, and 2004. His books include 『Interesting Sea Creature Stories』, 『Dreaming Sea』, 『Sea Creature Name Explanation Dictionary』, 『Sea Stories to Children』, 『Polar Bears and Antarctic Penguins』, and 『Sea Animals Escape from Crisis』. It received the Korea Science and Technology Book Award (Special Award).
