There was a notorious cat named Niyang. He was fat and greedy for food, and liked to torment small and weak animals. One spring day, Niyang was given a warm, freshly-cooked egg, which she gulped down in one bite. One day passes, two days go by... Niyang, who was already very fat, was getting bigger and bigger. “Oh my, it’s a boat!” Niyang suddenly felt the need to poop and ran to the bathroom. However, what came out of Niyang’s stomach was not poop, but a small, yellow, cute chick.

He is an artist known for his unique imagination and three-dimensional illustrations. She became even more famous when she was selected as Illustrator of the Year in the fiction section of the 2005 Bologna International Book Fair, but her work 『Cloud Bread』 has already become a steady seller based on her talent. 『Cloud Bread』 tells the story of a fantasy about clouds that everyone has experienced at least once, reminding her of the fun imagination of her childhood. It stimulates both the memories of adults and the imagination of children by dealing with the commotion that anyone who eats bread made from clouds brought by a cat, using family as the basis, will float away. Above all, what makes her stand out is her creativity and warmth in her three-dimensional illustrations. Unlike existing paintings, the dolls, which feel like paper, the cloth clothes they wear, and the background, which is all made up of props, attract readers with a friendly and warm feeling. Another of her works, 『Grandpa Red Bean Porridge and the Tiger』, was also depicted through a Korean paper doll, bringing out a new and different feeling in the story we were already familiar with. Baek Hee-na's world view based on her family and affection seeps into her stories and paintings, making those who read her work feel a sense of warmth.
