After graduating from the Department of English Literature at Seoul National University, he worked as a reporter for the JoongAng Ilbo and Korea Economic Daily's culture department, a publishing journal weekly, director of the culture department at Munhwa Ilbo, and deputy director and editorial writer for Segye Ilbo. 
Working in the media industry, he also worked as a translator for foreign TV films, producing foreign films for daytime dramas such as <Wonder Woman>, <The Man with Two Faces>, <Season of Ambition>, and <Long Live the Cosby Family>, as well as <South and North>, <Holocaust>, and <Thorn>. Translated mini-series such as “Tree Bird” and “War and Memories” and hundreds of weekend foreign films. He completed the Graduate School of Journalism and Public Relations (Master's) at Yonsei University and also lectured at the Graduate Broadcasting Academy of Sogang University. He worked as a professional journalist mainly in the fields of art and publishing. He currently works as a freelance writer and translator, and serves as the chairman of the Special Subcommittee on Entertainment and Entertainment of the Korea Communications Standards Commission.
