Description
A tiger that lost its cubs to a hunter brutally attacks a village. The shaman says the tiger will not harm the prince, so he tells the prince to send him to the tiger. As the shaman said, the prince survives and goes to live with the tiger. And a few years later, the king's army comes to the forest to find the prince.
A picture book by Chen Jianghong, a Chinese writer who now lives in France. The author was inspired to create this story after seeing the bronze statue of a ‘mother tiger’ at the Seinenuisi Museum in Paris, France. In fact, there is a story in Chinese legend about a child named Jiwen being raised by a tiger.
The tiger, which has long been an object of fear and faith in the East, is brought to life in this picture book, exuding Eastern emotion. This painting combines tradition and modernity, oriental lines and western colors, and stands out for its elaborate composition and beautiful colors. While overwhelming the reader with large-scale pictures, small pictures are placed together to convey the psychology of the characters and effectively tell the story.
The connection between humans and animals is touching. In particular, pay attention to the picture that delicately depicts the emotions that come and go between the tiger and the prince!
