『Seven Years of Sleep』 is a picture fairy tale by Park Wan-seo, a representative writer of our time, depicting the story of ants who discover a cicada larva that has been sleeping for seven years. Through not only the fruits of the cicadas' persistence and perseverance, but also the conflicts and concerns of the ants surrounding the cicada larvae, we speak in a simple tone about the purpose and correct values ​​we should truly pursue in today's world where material civilization dominates.

The famine continued in the ant village. Then one day, the young ant finds some big, fresh food. The food was a cicada larva that had been in the ground for about seven years, flapping its voice and wings. However, the wise old ant says that he cannot eat the cicadas, which will soon rise above the ground, shed their skin, and fly away, and begins to argue with the hungry ants.

The ants eventually give up their life-threatening food and decide to help the cicadas. If you don't drag this cicada to the light, the ants will have to go out again to find food. Still, we don't know if they will be able to find food. The ants that carried the cicada larvae realized this. What is as precious as filling your stomach and eating a full meal is enriching and strengthening your heart.

Artist Kim Se-hyeon, who captures the world our children face on canvas based on the pure beauty of oriental painting, tried to convey nature intact in this book. The land, which is their home of life, and the cicadas, which stay underground for a long time waiting to rise above the ground, all used materials obtained from nature. The ground is made of Andong clay, and the cicadas are colored with natural mineral pigments, conveying deep colors and the liveliness of nature.
