In 1962, Keats published The Snowy Day, a book he both wrote and illustrated, sparking a revolution in the world of picture books. The Snowy Day was the first picture book to feature a Black child as its main character, portraying a child's everyday life exactly as it is, with an equally groundbreaking artistic style...
