Through his many works, he sharply satirized how civilization stripped people of their individuality, reducing them to faceless figures. In addition to Many Moons, he wrote many meaningful children's books, including The Great Quillow and The White Deer.\n\nIllustrator: Louis Slobodkin (1903-1975)\nAfter graduating from an art school in New York, Slobodkin worked as both a sculptor and illustrator. He won the Caldecott Medal in 1944 for Many Moons.
