{"product_id":"호랑이왕자-원제-le-prince-tigre","title":"The Tiger Prince (Original Title: Le Prince Tigre)","description":"Description: After losing her cubs to a hunter, a tiger begins to viciously attack a village. A shaman declares that the tiger will not harm the prince, and tells the villagers to send the prince to her. Just as the shaman foretold, the prince survives and comes to live alongside the tiger. Years later, the king's soldiers arrive in the forest in search of the prince.\n\nThis picture book was created by Chen Jiang Hong, a Chinese-born artist now living in France. The author found inspiration for this story after seeing a bronze statue of a mother tiger at the Cernuschi Museum in Paris. Interestingly, a similar Chinese legend exists about a child named Ji Wen who was raised by a tiger.\n\nThe tiger — long regarded in the East as a symbol of both fear and reverence — is brought vividly to life in this picture book, which is steeped in Eastern sensibility. The artwork masterfully blends tradition and modernity, Eastern brushwork and Western color, resulting in refined composition and stunning color palettes. Sweeping, large-scale illustrations overwhelm the reader with their grandeur, while smaller inset images convey the characters' inner emotions, effectively driving the story forward. The bond shared between human and animal is deeply moving — pay special attention to the delicate way the emotional connection between the tiger and the prince is portrayed.\n\nAuthor: Chen Jiang Hong\nRecent Works: The Tiger Prince and 8 titles in total\nAbout the Author: Born in China in 1963, Chen Jiang Hong studied at art schools in Tianjin and Beijing before moving to Paris, France in 1987 to pursue his artistic career.
