Over the past few years, the core of the humanities craze in Korea has been the *Broad and Shallow Knowledge for Intellectual Conversations* series and its author, Chae Sa-jang. The public was enthusiastic about the explanations, which were easier and more entertaining than any theory, and the insights that wove the vast and complex field of the humanities into a single coherent flow. The shortened title, "Jidaenulbyat," became an unfamiliar yet special synonym. This "Jidaenulbyat" series continues to maintain its reputation to this day as a national classic read by everyone from octogenarians to middle school students.

This book is the first humanities and liberal arts story comic for children in Korea, weaving the core themes of 'Jidaenulbyat' into a narrative. There have been few humanities books for children like this that help children understand knowledge through a powerful story and, through it, cultivate the 'power of thinking.' The *Chae-Sajang's Jidaenulbyat* series fired a successful first shot for young readers in Volume 1, which dealt with the birth of power. Now, in Volume 2, it returns with an even more substantial storyline, covering the myth of capitalism.
