Hangul was originally called “Hunminjeongeum.” Hunminjeongeum Haerye, serving as a Hangeul textbook, clarifies scientific and philosophical grounds on which King Sejong created Hangeul. The textbook gives examples about Hangeul to ensure that people may easily learn the language. “Hunminjeongeum Haerye Teaching tools for Hangul” is our design to illustrate principles regarding how Hangul is created. We have designed these principles into blocks while also translating them into contemporary Hangul. The blocks are consisted of consonants(Back tooth, Tongue, Lip, Teeth, Throat) and vowels(Positive, Medial, Negative).
