About the Author
Author: Park Su-hyun
He graduated from the Department of Ocean Engineering at Korea Maritime University and completed graduate studies in Underwater Diving Science and Technology at the same university. While still a university student in 1988, he founded the scuba diving team 'Aqua-man' and began his journey into the sea, logging over 1,500 dives to date. As a certified scuba diving instructor, he formed the 'Saetbit Underwater Photography Club' in 2001, contributing to the popularization of underwater photography. He has also been dedicated to community service for over 10 years as a member of the Busan Water Rescue Volunteer Fire Brigade, where he trains volunteer firefighters in scuba diving. After joining The Kookje Daily News in 1994, he launched Korea's first underwater news team at a domestic daily newspaper in September 1996, establishing a new field of 'underwater photojournalism' in Korean media. His underwater reporting earned him the Korea Journalists Association's 'Journalist of the Month' award in 1999, 2004, and 2006. His published works include "Fun Stories About Sea Creatures," "Dreaming Sea," "Dictionary of Sea Creature Names," "Sea Stories for Children," "Polar Bears and Antarctic Penguins," and "Sea Animals' Escape from Crisis," and he received the Special Award at the 24th Korea Science and Technology Book Awards.
