Description
"Don't be afraid! Keep on dreaming!"
From Kim Young-jin, author of the beloved 'Convenience Store' series, comes a heart-pounding, thrilling, and deeply moving fantasy!
One day, Peolleogi suddenly disappears, and Naro and the other children begin having terrible nightmares. It turns out the Dark Squadron has taken over the Dream Factory in the imaginary world of Iruria, and they're churning out nightmares on purpose — so that children can never dream again, and will live forever in fear.
The only way to end these nightmares is to defeat the Dark Squadron and take back the Dream Factory. But can Naro really pull this off alone — without Peolleogi by his side?
Don't be afraid, kids! Keep on dreaming! Help Naro!
Overview
It's been a whole week since Peolleogi — Naro's dog and a special agent from the imaginary world of Iruria — went missing. Around the same time, Naro started waking up from terrible nightmares, and every dog in the neighborhood vanished at once. Something must be very wrong in Iruria. But with no way to get there on his own, Naro is stuck — until a mysterious package arrives.
Inside the box is a button that can take him anywhere, just once, and a letter from Peolleogi begging him to come to the rescue. Naro presses the button and finds himself in the Dream Factory of Iruria. This is the place where artists who have passed on from the real world craft wonderful dreams — in fact, nearly everything beautiful and wonderful in the real world comes from here. But now, the Dark Squadron has seized control of the factory, churning out nightmares instead. And somewhere inside, Peolleogi is being held captive.
If things stay this way, children all over the world will lose their dreams and live in constant fear. Can Naro, without Peolleogi's help, defeat the Dark Squadron and save both his friend and the Dream Factory?
Are children everywhere really having nightmares?
These days, Naro can think of nothing but finding his missing friend Peolleogi. To everyone else, he might just look like an ordinary dog, but to Naro, he's an irreplaceable friend and family member. And here's a secret: Peolleogi is actually a special agent from the imaginary world of Iruria, and Naro is the child with the greatest imagination in the world. Naro likes to think he chose Peolleogi, but really, it was Peolleogi who chose him. Together, the two of them have solved all sorts of problems in the imaginary world.
Since the imaginary world and the real world affect one another, trouble in one always causes trouble in the other. Something has clearly gone wrong again — but without Peolleogi, Naro is powerless to do anything about it, and night after night, he wakes up shaking from nightmares.
Then one day, a strange package arrives for Naro. Inside is a letter and a button that looks like a doorbell — something Peolleogi had prepared in advance, just in case something like this happened. Sure enough, Peolleogi has been kidnapped by the Dark Squadron! The doorbell-like button turns out to be the special button that will take Naro straight to Iruria.
With trembling hands, Naro presses the button. He's terrified — but he can't just turn his back on Peolleogi. In an instant, the elevator he's standing in shakes wildly and shoots upward without end, finally setting him down in the Dream Factory of Iruria.
The Dream Factory is where great artists who have left the real world stay and craft dreams. It's no exaggeration to say that everything wonderful and beautiful in the real world comes from this very place. But now the Dark Squadron has taken it over, cranking out nightmare after nightmare — and that's why children everywhere have been having such terrible dreams.
If nothing changes, children all over the world will lose their ability to dream and live in constant fear. Without Peolleogi, can Naro find the strength to defeat the Dark Squadron on his own and win back the Dream Factory?
Don't be afraid! Keep on dreaming! Light up the world with your dreams!
Everyone feels overwhelmed by fear sometimes. When we face situations that feel completely beyond our control, that fear can spiral into deep despair — just like what's happening to Naro right now. In truth, Naro is just an ordinary kid, seemingly far too small to be the hero who saves the world. Without Peolleogi...
