Spring Forest Playground is filled with springtime flowers. What kinds can you find? Bleeding heart (geumnanghwa) means "a flower like a silk pouch," earning it the nickname "daughter-in-law's flower pouch." The wild pear tree is one of the pear trees that grow naturally in the mountains. When its white flowers bloom in April, the whole area brightens. The peach tree, also called bokdunamu, blooms with pink flowers that appear before its leaves. The mountain cherry tree, as its name suggests, is a cherry tree that grows in the mountains. When it blooms each spring, the mountains glow with soft color. The cinquefoil (yangjikkot) thrives in sunny spots, which is how it got its name. Its stems cluster together at the root, and since it's a perennial, older plants grow into impressively large clumps.
