Description Book Introduction 'Sejong Institute Practical Korean' is a Korean language textbook focused on enhancing the 'communication' skills of overseas Korean learners. It is a revised edition of the 'Sejong Korean Conversation' textbook developed in 2016. In publishing this new 'Sejong Institute Practical Korean' series, surveys were conducted among teachers and learners who had used the 'Sejong Korean Conversation' textbook, and in-depth interviews were held with dispatched Sejong Institute teachers, local teachers, and administrative teachers to maximize the strengths of the previous textbook while addressing its shortcomings. In particular, in line with the 'gender impact assessment criteria' that have recently drawn attention in Korean language textbooks, efforts were made to eliminate gender role stereotypes and biases, and to remove imbalances in gender representation. Additionally, illustrations or photos with unclear meanings, and instructions that were overly complex, were clarified and simplified to improve teaching and learning efficiency. Furthermore, when multiple standard forms existed, the vocabulary more commonly used by Korean speakers was chosen, and the content was updated to reflect changes in Korean society and culture since the previous publication, enhancing its timeliness and practical usability in educational settings.
