Description Book Introduction "Sejong Institute Practical Korean" is a Korean language textbook focused on strengthening the communication skills of overseas Korean language learners. It is a revised edition of the "Sejong Korean Conversation" textbook, originally developed in 2016. In preparing this new edition of "Sejong Institute Practical Korean," surveys were conducted among teachers and learners who had used the previous "Sejong Korean Conversation" textbook, and in-depth interviews were carried out with dispatched Sejong Institute teachers, local teachers, and administrative teachers. This process helped maximize the strengths of the previous edition while addressing its shortcomings. In particular, in line with the recently emphasized "gender impact assessment" criteria for Korean language textbooks, efforts were made to remove gender role stereotypes and biases and to eliminate imbalances in gender representation. Illustrations and photos with unclear meaning, as well as overly complex instructions, were clarified and simplified to improve teaching and learning efficiency. In addition, cases of multiple standard word forms were replaced with the vocabulary most commonly used by Korean speakers, and the content was updated to reflect changes in Korean society and culture since the original publication, enhancing both timeliness and practical classroom applicability.
