Description: A baby sparrow lives together with its mother in a nest tucked inside a patch of Chinese moonseed vine. The baby sparrow learns to fly from its mother, but ends up flying too far away. As its wings begin to ache, the little sparrow searches for a place to rest, flying from nest to nest, but is turned away each time because its chirp doesn't match. As the sky grows darker and it can no longer fly, the baby sparrow hops along the ground—and finally finds its mother.
This book comes recommended by Dr. Lee Sang-geum of the Department of Early Childhood Education at Ewha Womans University. Depicting the baby sparrow's adventure and the warmth of returning to its mother's embrace, the story helps children learn about the spirit of adventure and the wisdom gained while searching for one's way home. It is sure to be a wonderful picture book for children just beginning to take their first steps out into the world.
