Description: This photo collection captures the many different peoples and cultures that make up our global village through a vast array of striking images. As you turn the pages, you'll feel the energy of humanity, smile at its warmth and familiarity, and come away with a deep sense of belonging as a fellow citizen of Earth. The book is thoughtfully organized into seven themes so readers can see at a glance how people around the world work, learn, play, dress, rest, eat, drink, and enjoy life. The photographs and text are the work of Japanese photographer Yoshio Komatsu, who has spent decades traveling to countries around the world and meeting countless people along the way. From traditional farming occupations to modes of transportation, from the varied appearances of homes, schools, and playgrounds to clothing and accessories, laundry practices, food and drink, the endless variety of cuisines, and landscapes shaped by climate and terrain—readers can naturally encounter the diverse lives and cultures of people living in different ways across races and nations.
