Description: Let's joyfully learn about our precious Korean culture — something every child should know — through a variety of fun art activities! Korean culture may feel unfamiliar to children, but it's something truly important for them to learn. This book introduces the cultural heritage and traditional customs found in elementary school textbooks through enjoyable art play. Kids can naturally learn about proud aspects of our culture — like the magnificent Sungnyemun Gate, the beautiful Goryeo celadon, and the dazzling Silla gold crown — by playing with stickers, cutting activities, coloring pages, and 3D models. Our precious culture can disappear if we don't preserve it with care and affection. 'Our Culture in Elementary School Textbooks: Art Play' introduces the traditional culture every child should know, organized into four themes: Holidays & Games, Art & Architecture, Daily Life & Culture, and Science & Technology. From things you can usually only see in museums or books, to familiar traditions found in everyday life like yutnori, hanbok, kimchi, and hangul — this book covers a wide range of Korean culture. Along with engaging descriptions of each tradition, the book also offers helpful extra facts worth knowing. It's a wonderful book for learning all about Korean culture while enjoying art activities. Over 100 Stickers and Cut-Out Pages — A Wide Variety of Colorful Art Activities! For children, art is an instinctive way of expressing their own thoughts. Through artistic expression that comes naturally without needing to be taught, kids organize their ideas and create their own stories. Through this process, they absorb various information in a way that matches their own level of understanding. This is exactly why art play makes such an effective educational tool. This book includes more than 100 art activities such as coloring, crafting, and sticker play. By enjoying a variety of art activities themed around Korean culture, children can get to know their heritage in a warm and approachable way. Cutting, pasting, and coloring by hand also helps develop fine motor skills and creativity. This book brings together fascinating topics and fun art activities so kids can meet Korean culture in a friendly, engaging way. Four 3D Models to Pop Out and Build! Inside the book are punch-out pieces to build four 3D models: Sungnyemun Gate, the turtle ship (Geobukseon), yut sticks, and a paper box. By actually building our proud cultural heritage — Sungnyemun Gate and the turtle ship — children get to thoroughly understand their structure and appearance. The building process is easy! Simply pop out the printed pieces, fold them along the lines, and glue them together following the instructions in the book — and four wonderful 3D models come together in no time! Once complete, have fun playing with your finished 3D models.
