Description 1. The Best Experts Came Together to Create the Ultimate Science Primer! Combining expertise and fun in a children's science book is no easy task. This book brings together top experts from every field to achieve that difficult goal. The planning and supervision were handled by a team of researchers from KAIST's Institute for Gifted Science Education, who have spent years teaching children. Made up of specialists in physics, chemistry, life science, and earth science, this research team was involved in every stage of the book's creation—from selecting topics and organizing the table of contents to reviewing and supervising the content—ensuring the book's overall quality. To make the learning material engaging, a professional storywriter crafted an entertaining narrative, while a science-major writer checked the educational content and helped refine the story. The informational sections were written by specialists holding degrees in science fields. As for the characters, none other than Heunhan Namae—today's most beloved creators who need no introduction—make an appearance, brought to life with even more charm by a veteran illustrator. With the shared goal of creating a top-quality science primer for the children who will shape our future, this all-star production team came together to craft a science comic that combines both expertise and fun. 2. Reading a Fun Story Naturally Builds Scientific Knowledge! No more science comics where the story and the learning content feel completely separate! In the past, many science comics kept their stories and educational content from blending well, like oil and water—leading kids to just enjoy the story without absorbing the lessons. The Heunhan Namae Science Expedition series cleverly weaves learning content into the story itself, so kids naturally remember what they've learned just by enjoying the comic. Now you can build up your science knowledge without even realizing it, all while having fun reading! 3. Textbook-Based, Plus the Latest Research and Local Insights! The foundation of science learning is the textbook. This series thoroughly analyzes elementary school science textbook content, dividing it into volumes by topic, with each volume covering the full textbook curriculum. To help children build systematic scientific knowledge, the table of contents and storylines were carefully structured according to the educational curriculum. On top of that, the books are enriched with fascinating topics beyond the textbook, along with the latest research and information related to Korea, making the content even more engaging. 4. Answering Kids' Burning Science Questions! The quirky questions children ask often turn out to be wonderful science topics in their own right. During the planning stage, the editorial team surveyed elementary school students and collected over 3,000 questions. The book's content was built around answering the most popular and most original of these questions. What were kids most curious about? You'll find out inside! 5. Packed with Fun and Meaningful Activities! At the end of each chapter, kids can enjoy exciting activities based on what they've just learned. From 'Open the Secret Snack Drawer!' to 'Roll the Code Dice!', the book is full of thrilling games and challenges.
