Description: These Hanja reading cards are a children's Chinese character learning material developed by applying Glenn Doman's flash card learning method. The cards are made of premium art paper with matte, protective double-sided lamination on both sides, so they can be used without getting wrinkled or damaged. Glenn Doman's flash card learning theory holds that when objects are shown to a child for just an instant, the child absorbs the image into their memory as if taking a photograph, using their innate abilities of intuitive imagery and instinctive perception. With these Hanja reading cards, children ages 0 to 5 are shown a picture on the front of the card for a brief moment, and then the card is flipped so the parent can read the Hanja character on the back aloud in their own living voice. This integrates visual and auditory memory—image memory and language memory—into a single unified memory trace. By showing the object first and then the character, the learning effect is further enhanced. This teaching material is organized into four stages: Stage 1 - Basic Hanja Characters (240 characters), Stage 2 - Basic Hanja Words (120 words), Stage 3 - Sentences (12 sentences), and Stage 4 - Books. Hanja characters are abstract symbols that carry both meaning (hun) and sound (eum). This program is designed so that children first learn the meaning and sound of 240 basic single Hanja characters, then naturally build up their Hanja knowledge through words (Hanja compounds) and sentences, eventually becoming able to read books written in Hanja. The vocabulary included covers the 150 reading-only characters from Levels 8 and 7 of the Hanja Proficiency Test, as well as a substantial number of characters at the 3rd-grade elementary school level.
