Description
[Composition and Features]
(1) The standard study time for one textbook is one month. In the first week, students learn the basic principles of arithmetic by completing 6 pages per day. In weeks 2 to 4, which focus on developing problem-solving skills based on these principles, students complete 4 pages per day.
(2) To ensure smooth learning in weeks 2, 3, and 4, a section called 'Operation Skills Check' is included at the end of week 1 to verify and reinforce the understanding of the basic concepts learned in that week.
(3) The difficulty level of the textbook is designed to progressively increase in the order of 'Week 1 → Week 2 → Week 3 → Week 4',
and within each week, it increases in the order of 'Day 1 → Day 2 → Day 3 → Day 4 → Day 5',
and within each day, it increases in the order of 'Page 1 → Page 2 → Page 3 → Page 4'.
(4) To help children engage in self-directed learning, various materials such as activity stickers, worksheets, intuitive examples, and diverse hints are provided.
(5) Appendix 1: Math Board Game
Each textbook includes one math board game to allow parents and children to enjoy playing together while reinforcing the basic principles of arithmetic learned in week 1. This approach helps improve accuracy and speed in arithmetic through engaging math board games instead of tedious repetitive exercises.
(6) Appendix 2: Praise Stickers
Considering the tendency of children to lose motivation easily, 'Praise Stickers' are included on the bottom right corner of the last page of daily lessons to encourage learning. These stickers are designed in three levels based on academic achievement, featuring phrases like 'You're the best!', 'Great job!', and 'Keep it up!'.
(7) Appendix 3: Operation King Certificate
At the end of each textbook, a certificate is included to motivate students for the next level of learning. When children receive this certificate along with enthusiastic praise and applause, they will gain confidence in their math skills.
(8) The Mathian website (http://www.mathtian.com) offers various learning materials, including:
1) Supplementary arithmetic problems
