Description: Seon-i has a soft, cozy new blanket. She loves it so much that she hugs it tight. Just as she's about to lie down and sleep under her new blanket, she hears a sniffing sound—someone is trying to crawl into her blanket! It's a puppy! The puppy seems to love Seon-i's blanket too. But it's not just the puppy. Tap tap, thump thump, swish swish—a duck, a bear, and even a fox with a long tail all take turns crawling into Seon-i's blanket. Everyone seems to love her blanket so much! The friends who came into the blanket wiggle and squirm, then throw off the blanket and say, "Let's play together!" They ride a blanket sled, slide down a blanket slide, eat blanket gimbap, and even fly on a blanket airplane. This joyful play picture book captures the wonderful imagination that unfolds through a rollicking play session. A Play Picture Book That Boosts Imagination An ordinary blanket transforms into an exciting playground for children! A young child's daily life is simple: eat, sleep, play, and repeat. But if you look closely, it's truly an amazing time of growth, with something new happening every day. Children are always trying new things and taking on new challenges. Even while eating, they don't just eat quietly—they shout, joke around, and sometimes even fall asleep mid-meal. At bedtime, they don't just go to sleep peacefully—they whine about being sleepy, then suddenly jump up to play again just when they've lain down. The harder a mom tries to get her child to sleep, the brighter and more awake the child's eyes seem to become, often testing a mother's patience. This is when a good round of physical play comes in handy. Children have a curious talent for diving into a world of boundless imagination the moment they pull a blanket over their heads. If you have a child who won't sleep and keeps whining, it's time for mom and dad to step in! All you need is a blanket! Give them a ride on a blanket sled, make a blanket slide and roll them down it, wrap them up like blanket gimbap, and fly them around on a blanket airplane. After playing this joyfully, the child will happily settle down under the blanket and drift off to dreamland. An ordinary blanket becomes an extraordinary playground for a child. A blanket can sometimes be a soothing companion like a teddy bear, comforting a child's heart, and other times it becomes a stage for imagination—an ocean, a mountain, anything the child dreams up. That's why Seon-i's Blanket is such a joyful play picture book for children who excel at imagination. Written by author Jeong Ha-seop, who has honed his craft over 7 years of childcare experience, Seon-i's Blanket is a warm baby picture book that feels like gentle spring sunshine. It grew out of the warm feelings children associate with their blankets and the joyful experiences of playing with them. The joy this book offers can be divided into two main parts. The first is the delight of watching animals enter Seon-i's small blanket one by one: "Oh, who came into the blanket?" "Oh, it's a puppy." "Who's next?" "Oh, it's a duck." The animals appear one after another, building a delightful sense of curiosity. The second joy is the blanket play itself—a fun activity that can stop even a crying child's tears in an instant, no explanation needed. The main character, Seon-i, bonds with the animal friends who enter her blanket one by one, experiencing the joy of sharing her blanket with creatures big and small, and the happiness of playing together. After all the joyful play, they all settle down together under the blanket and fall asleep. This book will guide children off to a pleasant dreamland at bedtime. Author Jeong Ha-seop, who wrote this story, has a strong interest in bold and spirited myths and traditional tales. However, as the father of three children devoted to childcare, he created this gentle, soft blanket story that perfectly matches the perspective and warmth of young children. Perhaps that's why this blanket play story, written by a father, feels even cozier. Illustrator Lee Ji-eun also poured her heart into drawing a blanket that would delight Seon-i and her friends, completing this charming and adorable picture book.
