Description Book Introduction "Sejong Institute Practical Korean" is a Korean language textbook focused on strengthening the communication skills of overseas learners of Korean. It is a revised edition of the 2016 textbook "Sejong Korean Conversation." In preparing this new edition, surveys were conducted among teachers and learners who had experience using "Sejong Korean Conversation," and in-depth interviews were held with dispatched Sejong Institute instructors, local teachers, and program administrators. This process helped maximize the strengths of the original textbook while addressing its shortcomings. In particular, in line with recent attention to gender impact assessment in Korean language textbooks, the revision removed gender role stereotypes and biases and aimed to eliminate imbalances in gender representation. Illustrations and photos with unclear meaning, as well as overly complex instructions, were clarified and simplified to improve teaching and learning efficiency. In addition, cases of multiple standard word forms were replaced with vocabulary more commonly used by Korean speakers, and the content was updated to reflect changes in Korean society and culture since the original publication, enhancing both timeliness and practical classroom usability.
