Description Building on the achievements of its previous customized teaching materials, the National Institute of Korean Language has developed Korean language educational materials for preschool-aged children (ages 3-6) living abroad. In 2017, foundational research and needs assessments were conducted, followed by field application and feedback collection in 2018. The development team included experts in Korean language education, early childhood education, and education for overseas Koreans. As a result, the series "Fun Korean for Preschoolers Around the World" was published, consisting of 6 activity books for children, 2 teacher's guides, 1 Hangul play book, and 1 big picture book. In order for overseas Koreans everywhere to live with a healthy sense of identity and pride, Korean language education tailored to their unique circumstances is essential. Since language development varies by age, it is especially important to provide age-appropriate Korean language education. Children can enjoyably learn Korean through a wide range of content, teachers can flexibly use the various activity sheets according to their teaching goals, and parents can naturally incorporate the Korean their children learned at school into everyday life at home through family-connected activities. In particular, these materials were developed to enhance children's bilingual abilities and foster a healthy sense of linguistic and cultural identity. To that end, they are richly filled with content about the Korean language and culture, and great care was taken to showcase the diverse and colorful aspects of language and culture.
