Description
A commentary on Revelation that has grown deeper through years of lecturing and research, and even more accessible for every reader.
This is the second revised edition of 'How Should We Read Revelation?', a book beloved by readers for nearly twenty years. While enhancing the existing commentary, the primary focus of this revision was to make the book more comfortable and approachable for readers.
First, an outline titled 'The Structure of Revelation' has been placed at the beginning of the book, allowing readers to grasp the overall shape of Revelation through structural analysis. Subheadings have also been strengthened to reflect shifts in content and theme, helping readers more easily follow the flow of the text. Unlike the previous edition, where inserted sections (chapters 7; 10-11; 12-14) were grouped into separate blocks, this edition explains these insertions in their original textual context, making it much easier to trace the overall flow of Revelation.
Finally, this revised edition places special emphasis on the question, 'Does coming on the clouds (1:7) refer to the Second Coming or the Ascension?' Watching how this question unfolds and is resolved is one of the special pleasures of this book.
