Story Summary: The fish are worried about old Hunchback, who is lying in bed, sick and unable to move. The doctor says he can only be cured by eating red seaweed that grows in Devil's Cave. Rainbow Fish volunteers to fetch it, but the other fish try to stop him, warning of the dangerous monsters said to lurk in Devil's Cave. Undeterred, Rainbow Fish sets off for Devil's Cave together with Little Blue Fish. The deeper they swim into the cave, the more afraid they become, certain that monsters are about to appear. At last, Rainbow Fish and Little Blue Fish make their way past the terrifying "monsters" their friends had warned them about and manage to gather the red seaweed. On their way back, they realize that what they thought were monsters were actually just lanternfish and seaweed. When they return safely, their friends and old Hunchback greet the two brave fish with cheers and praise, and Rainbow Fish and Little Blue Fish excitedly recount their grand adventure.
