Description
This Glenn Doman-style early math learning set for infants consists of 28cm square cards printed with red dots, symbol cards, and an instruction guide. It uses babies' unique innate ability (eidetic/intuitive perception) to instantly recognize and memorize what they see or hear, teaching quantity concepts by showing dots.
[Principle]
The Dot Cards are developed by applying the principles from Glenn Doman's "How to Teach Your Baby Math" to build mathematical intelligence in babies. As explained in the Hangul Reading Cards, this flashcard method uses the principle of eidetic imagery and intuitive perception—showing cards with red dots while clearly speaking the corresponding quantity aloud—to stimulate both visual and auditory senses and teach number concepts. "Dot" refers to the red circular dots printed on the cards. Unlike the standardized, one-size-fits-all teaching methods used in academies that ignore each baby's individuality, this program is designed for mothers to teach their babies directly at home, at a pace suited to the child's own capacity, using a warm and loving voice. The set consists of dot cards (1–100, 0), symbol cards (+ − × ÷ < > ≠ y), and an instruction booklet.
[Composition]
101 cards with red dots from 0 to 100, symbol cards (+ − × ÷ < > ≠ y), instruction guide
Author Introduction
Glenn Doman was the director of the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia, USA, and a pioneer who developed groundbreaking therapies for treating brain-injured children. After graduating from the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania in 1940, he conducted joint research with Dr. Fay at Temple University Hospital before founding the Institutes for the Achievement of Human Potential, achieving remarkable results in treating brain-injured children around the world. Through his work treating these children, Dr. Doman discovered the tremendous potential hidden within babies, and went on to create unique programs for developing infants' abilities in reading, math, foreign languages, physical movement, music, and more.
