This is the second novel by award-winning author Jung Se-rang, who won the Changbi Long Fiction Award and the Korean Herald Literary Award, depicting a very rare love story between alien Kyung-min and Earthling Hana. After its publication in 2012, it was unfortunately out of print, and the story has been loved by avid readers to the extent that used copies are traded at high prices. It is being re-released in a revised edition by Nanda. The content and sentences throughout the story have been carefully refined, and the cover features illustrations by artist Chae Ji-min, giving it a new look. Readers invited into Jung Se-rang's world, characterized by a lively and witty style, will be irresistibly captivated by his heartfelt sincerity.
Hana, touched by the sight of Kyung-min applying just the right amount of toothpaste to a toothbrush, is a clothing reform designer who practices low-carbon living. She runs a small clothing repair shop called 'Rebirth,' adding a touch of novelty to clothes filled with someone's stories and time. Hana has a boyfriend, Kyung-min, whom she has liked since she was twenty and has known for eleven years. Unlike Hana, who prefers to stay in familiar places, Kyung-min lives freely and has flown off to Canada this summer to watch the meteor shower alone. Hana has always felt a bit hurt by Kyung-min's lack of consideration for her feelings, but she thinks that this affection can also be called resignation. Just then, news breaks about a meteorite falling in Canada, causing a commotion, and Hana worries. Kyung-min returns safely but seems subtly different. The large scar on his arm has vanished, and he eats the eggplant dish he used to hate with delight. Most importantly, he, who always made Hana wait, now seems to focus on her, giving her the feeling of being "a little more together". Confused by Kyung-min's changed demeanor and suspicious behavior, Hana begins to feel that something is going wrong...

Jung Se-rang, a novelist who has secured her own color while flexibly expanding the territory of Korean literature at the boundary between literary and genre fiction. She calls out the faint names of those who seem to have brushed past us and sheds a small light on their lives. The praise from readers, calling her a 'trustworthy author,' reflects their trust and support for her rich reflections on minority identities, sensitive awareness of violence, and deep contemplation of contemporary issues that are excluded from the mainstream, which she intricately brings into her works. Thus, Jung Se-rang has become an 'indispensable name in today's Korean literature' (In Ah-young). She has expressed her desire to write novels that protect female readers who come after her, and she embodies male characters who can be 'good citizens' with clear faces in her works. The author questions whether the institution of marriage is the best form of union for two people in love, expanding the meaning beyond monogamous heterosexual unions to imagine various relationships that can exist together.
The novel's cover features two works by artist Chae Ji-min. One is the standard edition, and the other is a limited edition available only at local bookstores. The plan was to specifically select these two paintings for the two versions of the cover long ago. After reading the novel, you will likely understand why they look like this. After all, it is a story of 'love' between these two. Unlike when they face each other, the depth of their connection when they are facing the same direction makes me think that love can only truly hold the name 'eternal' when it relies on such 'loyalty.' The local bookstore edition is produced as a limited edition, and once the prepared quantity is sold out, it will no longer be available.
