Description - A delightfully imaginative and uniquely styled number picture book - Come explore the strange and beautiful house that goes down, down, down to 100 stories underground!
As you travel down through ten-story sections, each home to a different animal, you'll naturally learn to count from 1 to 100! This charming picture book makes counting easy and fun as readers descend through underground floors 10, 20, 30, and so on, each level inhabited by a different creature. The characteristics of each animal - rabbit, cicada larva, pill bug, ant, earthworm, hedgehog, lizard, mole, and turtle - are drawn with wonderfully imaginative detail, adding extra delight to every page. The illustrations also reveal fascinating details about each animal's habits and habitat, making this single book a triple treat of fun, counting practice, and nature learning. The author's clever idea of having readers turn the book downward as they read lets little ones fully experience the feeling of descending deeper and deeper underground - a truly fresh and creative touch.
While Koo is taking a bath, someone tells him about a big celebration happening at the 100-story house underground and invites him to come. Koo bravely sets off to find the house, and after reaching the foot of a volcano while searching for the entrance, he suddenly slips down into the ground. He lands in a rabbit burrow - floors 1 through 10 are home to rabbits. Next come cicada larvae, then pill bugs, ants, earthworms, hedgehogs, lizards, moles, and finally turtles, each occupying their own ten floors. After safely making his way down through each animal's unique home, floor by floor, Koo finally reaches the 100th floor and meets the little turtle who invited him - it turns out to be a celebration for the turtle grandmother's 100th birthday! After the party ends, the turtle grandmother carries Koo on her back and brings him back up to the surface.

Now a father of two daughters, he actively shares his ideas through books and his blog to expand the creative relationship between parents and children. Dochi receives an invitation from someone living at the very top of a 100-story house and climbs all the way up to the 100th floor. Floors 1-10 are home to mice, floors 11-20 to squirrels, and so on with frogs, ladybugs, and snakes living further up. With its tall, vertical format, each spread reveals ten floors belonging to a single animal. Using each animal's ecology and habits as inspiration, the book creatively depicts their indoor living spaces, showing charming scenes of eating, sleeping, raising babies, and playing. The frog's floor has a built-in sprinkler that keeps it always damp, while bats live upside down with lights on the floor. Rather than realistic depictions, the illustrations offer delightful, cartoon-style imaginative details.
