Description
The popularity of the [Code Name] series continues! When Code Name X and Code Name K were published in 2017, readers responded enthusiastically right away. Crafted with great care over a long time by the trusted author Kang Kyung-soo, these books captivated readers instantly with their perfect blend of fun, emotion, and humor. They quickly climbed to the top of online bookstore children's rankings, and the publisher was flooded with inquiries about a sequel. Finally, in May 2018, the third book in the [Code Name] series, Code Name V, delivers the thrill of 'fantasy espionage action' once again with a new character, fresh fun, and a vivid story.
To investigate Chairman Margarine, a new mission arrives: infiltrate the cooking competition he is hosting. Violet, the top agent of the MSG Intelligence Agency, and Blue are assigned to Team A, disguised as competition participants, while Code Name B and Code Name Q form Team B, tasked with infiltrating Chairman Margarine's office to extract information.
Violet and Blue breeze through Round 1. In Round 2, with nothing but a king crab claw that Blue barely managed to obtain, they make it to the final round thanks to the 'magic powder (MSG)' that Dr. Starsky gave them for emergencies. Meanwhile, Team B successfully infiltrates Chairman Margarine's office and uncovers secret information related to Violet.
But in the final round of the cooking competition, there are no ingredients at all! Their formidable rivals — Chef Marie Antoinut (France), Chef Fei Long (China), Chef Jeffrey (USA), and Chef Tamanegi (Japan) — have all somehow managed to prepare their own ingredients. Violet dashes off to find ingredients. As the deadline approaches and Violet still hasn't returned, Blue, left alone, cooks up ramen filled with memories of his mother. Just then, Violet appears and wins the competition with a dish made using kraken tentacles.
But Violet and Blue soon fall into Chairman Margarine's trap and find themselves in danger. Just when it seems Sirius K has arrived to help them escape safely, Violet is captured after all!
That's Kang Kyung-soo for you! The more you read, the more you're hooked, and the fun never stops! My child is completely absorbed in spy play, exclaiming 'This is so fun!' over and over — a perfect match for my child's taste! Our whole family has fallen head over heels for the [Code Name] series! — Reader Review
▶ The Birth of the Heroine This Era Needs!
The 'V' in Code Name V stands for Violet's code name. As the top agent of the world's greatest MSG Intelligence Agency, she is a heroine who carries out secret and noble missions for world peace. Violet, who trains and helps grow the still-clumsy rookie agent Blue (Code Name X), represents the recently spotlighted keyword of 'women.' Unlike most stories where the hero of a rough adventure is male, in [Code Name], Violet leads the way in fulfilling her duties, never gives up no matter how strong her opponent is, and shows the reliable presence of a true leader — sometimes tough, sometimes warm, and always decisive when it counts. Regardless of gender, she serves as a role model for today's children who will shape the future.
▶ A New Mission, New Agents Appear!
The new mission given to Violet and Blue is... cooking! But that's just their cover — the real mission lies elsewhere! In Code Name V, while Violet and Blue, disguised as chefs, keep gourmet and cooking enthusiast Chairman Margarine's eyes glued to the cooking competition, the infiltration team secretly extracts confidential information in a thrilling 'two-track' mission. The story becomes richer and more exciting as it cuts between the dazzling cooking battle of Team A (Violet and Blue) against formidable rival chefs, and the infiltration of the Margarine Building by the new agents of Team B, Code Name B and Code Name Q.
▶ Characters So Vivid They Seem to Leap Off the Page
Following Code Name X and Code Name K, Code Name V once again introduces a lineup of vivid, distinctive, and charming characters who feel like they could burst right off the page — including Chef Marie Antoinut (France), a fencing-decoration specialist, and Chef James, who cooks with a chainsaw...
