When the day she promised the tiger finally arrives, Grandma sits down to make the porridge, weeping bitterly. A chestnut, a turtle, a splat of watery poop, a needle, a straw mat, and an A-frame carrier hear her sad story, and after enjoying a delicious bowl of her porridge, they all join forces to give the tiger a satisfying comeuppance. This work was created by Baek Hee-na, an award-winning illustrator recognized at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, who crafted three-dimensional figures, painted the scenes, and photographed the final artwork. The story of small, weak creatures banding together to defeat a mighty tiger reflects our ancestors' heartfelt wish to see cruel, powerful figures brought to justice.
