Description Amid the flood of informational books about Korea, what makes This Is Korea different? A more universal and honest story about Korea. Many books introduce Korea to foreigners, yet many foreigners still know little about Korea and its people. For a long time, standing in the shadow of giant China and economic powerhouse Japan, Korea's image and that of its people have often been distorted or misunderstood. With this in mind, this book goes beyond simply delivering general information about Korea. It strives to introduce Korea and Koreans from a foreigner's perspective, covering a wide range of topics with a balanced viewpoint. Written in the warm tone of a Korean friend sharing stories firsthand, it aims to speak candidly and personably about a Korea where tradition and modernity coexist. This Is Korea is expected to be the ideal gift for travelers visiting Korea, foreign residents living in Korea, and anyone wishing to learn more about the country. What People Say About This Is Korea KOTRA Senior Advisor, Alan Timblick: "This book explains, from a foreigner's perspective, what makes Korea special and why." DHL Korea CEO, Alan Cassels: "I recommend this not only to foreigners visiting Korea for a short trip, but also to those living in Korea." Financial Times Korea Correspondent, Anna Fifield: "If I had read this book when I first came to Korea, it would have helped me tremendously. But it's not too late even now." New Zealand Ambassador to Korea, H.E. Jane Coombs: "These two authors introduce Korea to the world in a way that is completely different from other existing books about Korea."
